Pianos, brought back to life.
I'm Blake. I've been tuning and repairing pianos professionally for well over a decade: concert grands, church uprights, and the dusty spinet nobody's touched since the '80s. Same tuner, same ear, now under the Chihuaudio name.
Pianos I've cared for include those of Ran Blake and Patty Griffin.
Tuning, repair & regulation
Tuning & pitch raises
Regular tunings for pianos that get played, and pitch raises for the ones that have drifted for years. Most tunings take about an hour.
Repairs
Sticky and stuck keys, broken or missing strings, buzzes, squeaks and pedals, fixed on the spot whenever possible.
Regulation & voicing
Evening out touch and tone so the piano plays the way it should, from spinets to grands.
Honest assessments
Got an old piano and a budget? I'll tell you straight what it needs, and I'll never sell you more than your piano is worth.
Schools, churches & venues
Ongoing care for institutional pianos and performance instruments, scheduled around your calendar.
Trained by ear
Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, plus 15 years as a working musician, engineer and composer.
Every piano has a story.
The piano your grandmother learned on. The upright someone hauled home from Marketplace. The baby grand that's been in the family for three generations. Half of the job is the tuning; the other half is hearing where the instrument has been.
My favorite moment is when the work is done and someone sits down and plays again, sometimes for the first time in years. That's what I'm really there for.
